Abstract
This review article addresses violence in schools, understood as a phenomenon encompassing various forms of aggression, including physical, verbal, psychological, financial, sexual, and cyberbullying. The objective of this study is to analyze research on violence in educational institutions and the types of school violence currently present. The methodology is based on a State of Knowledge review, which consists of analyzing documents available on the SciELO Brazil platform. Keywords such as school violence, bullying, and aggression were used to search for texts. Works published between 2019 and 2023, contextualized in Brazil, in the area of Human Sciences, with a focus on School Psychology and Education, were included. Fifteen works were found, of which five were selected after a filtering process. The results of this research show that Brazilian legislation does not promote repressive measures to combat bullying, but rather focuses on developing respect and prevention. It is concluded that simply having police present in schools will not solve the problem of violence; it is suggested that investment in ongoing training be prioritized.
